I am passionate about supporting individuals who are struggling with eating and body image difficulties, including all primary eating disorders, in reclaiming and re-discovering a more peaceful, sustainable, and nourishing relationship with their whole being: Body, Heart, Mind, Identity, Food, and Life itself.
I believe that you can truly live a life that is free from the pain of disordered eating and eating disorder symptoms with the appropriate level of treatment and by identifying and addressing the underlying issues that are maintaining your struggle with food, weight, and body image.
I place a strong emphasis on helping my clients develop a self-compassionate approach to recovery, and in teaching them how to connect with and feel safe in their mind, heart, and body.
I know firsthand how painful, turbulent, and critical your inner mental, emotional and physical space can feel when you are struggling, and no matter the severity of your struggles, it is my hope to meet you where you are and support you in your journey.
In an initial meeting, I will listen deeply and sensitively to your strengths, areas of difficulty, and needs. I will then offer some recommendations on the most appropriate level of care or next steps for your treatment, and ways that we might work alongside each other.
My career in this field began in the United States. I'd worked with the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) as a group facilitator, and then at a partial hospitalisation and outpatient program as a therapist for adults with eating disorders. I have also worked at a specialist eating disorder service for children and adolescents in the NHS where I provided assessments and treatments for young people and their families. I currently work as a senior clinical psychologist at one of London's Premium Eating Disorder Outpatient Service where I provide specialized treatments to patients recovering from eating disorders and body and food related difficulties.
